Meet the Editors

With the Federal election looming, this special dinner series saw Australia’s top news editors go behind the stories to share their unique perspectives

Elections, escalating global conflict, and a rapidly evolving post pandemic world continue to reinforce the daily habit of news consumption, cementing the influence of Australia’s best-known media brands.

On 28 April and 5 May 2022, ThinkNewsBrands – together with executives from Nine, News Corp Australia and Seven West Media – hosted an exclusive dinner series at Yallamundi Sydney Opera House and Melbourne’s Vue de monde. The series provided a rare opportunity for the best minds in marketing to dine alongside the nation’s top editors; experts in their field who provided a deep dive on insights, audiences and engagement.

With the Federal election looming, Australia’s top news editors went behind the stories to share their unique perspectives; from the likely impact on businesses to consumer behaviour and the opportunities for advertisers.

In Sydney, Nine’s Deborah Knight was joined onstage by Michael Stutchbury (The Australian Financial Review), Michelle Gunn (The Australian) and Anthony De Ceglie (West Australian Newspapers). While in Melbourne, Nine’s Alicia Loxley was joined by Sam Weir (Herald Sun) and Tory Maguire (The Age, SMH, Brisbane Times & WAtoday).
