ThinkNewsBrands joins forces with Australian Marketing Institute to boost news publishing media education.
ThinkNewsBrands and the Australian Marketing Institute have teamed up to provide Australian marketers with enhanced access to media education and thought leadership, focusing on the news publishing sector.
In a significant step forward for the marketing profession in Australia, ThinkNewsBrands and the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing media education and knowledge among Australian marketing professionals. This collaboration is set to provide valuable insights and elevate the marketing profession in Australia.
The partnership will introduce a series of webinars, perspective series events, and a new category for the annual AMI awards, focusing on the best use of News Publishing media among brands and advertisers. These initiatives aim to addresses the gap in media knowledge among marketers, often resulting from the outsourcing of media planning and buying to specialised agencies.
Why the Partnership? Despite advertising spend being a significant line item in marketing budgets, many marketing professionals and businesses outsource their media planning and buying to specialised agencies. Consequently, recommended advertising placements and media mix allocations, which stem from these agencies, are not always well understood by marketers. While this approach can save time, it restricts marketers’ understanding of the media landscape and the factors driving success.
Empowering Marketers. The shared goal of the AMI and ThinkNewsBrands is to upskill marketers and empower them to excel in their careers and drive success for their brands. This partnership is a strategic step designed to fill the media skills gap in the Australian marketing industry. AMI hopes that while News Publishing media is the first to engage, other media channels will follow suit in the coming years.
Education and Recognition. Developed after consulting with the marketing profession, this new media upskilling offering aims to equip today’s marketers with the skills they need to succeed and challenge the status quo in a rapidly changing market. The News Publishing webinars and education initiatives will be recognized and accrue CPD points for the AMI Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) accreditation.
Launch Event. To kick off the partnership, the first of many state-based thought leadership Perspectives Series events will be held in Melbourne on the 29th of August. This initiative aims to enhance the understanding and application of the media landscape, with a focus on News Publishing among marketing professionals. These events will feature industry leaders and experts who will share their knowledge and experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of the role of News Publishing in the marketing mix and its impact on brand success. Marketers can register to attend this event here.
